I'd like to introduce you to author friends of mine:
Lynn Hooghiemstra
Having spent about an equal amount of time in both the US and Europe I feel comfortable in both cultures. A deep curiosity and interest in history, culture and humanity informs my work on all levels. Currently I live in the Pacific Northwest of the US, surrounded by mountains, water and many fellow writers. I have found it to be an area supportive of writers, with one of the highest per capita number of readers as well. And of course good coffee, that essential commodity for writers.
My formal education includes a bachelors degree in Visual and Performing Arts Management, Administration and Policy, but my overall, best education is the school of life, and self-study; I seek out information and books to inform my writing and my translation work.
Under my own name: Lynn Hooghiemstra, I write historical fiction.
Under the name Nicola Adams, I write slightly paranormal YA (Young Adult).
Biographical info on Nicola: High school should be a time to discover who you are and where you might fit in, but more often it's a time of anxiety, feeling left out and stressed. Nicola writes for and about those kids who feel different, outside of the norm, and often have extraordinary obstacles to overcome in finding acceptance, either within a group or within themselves.
I also write short stories, one of which can be found for just a buck (one dollar) on my website:

And even more fun information can be found on my blog:

Peter Kavanagh
I hope you enjoy reading my Art Myatt children's adventure series: The Jewel of the Sun, The Little Green Dragon, The Viking Treasure and The Magical Island.
I live in Oxfordshire where my stories are inspired by the beautiful countryside and wonderful architecture.
So why Art Myatt? I have always enjoyed reading many brilliant books and wanted to create my own children's adventure series. My stories are for young and old and the characters I have created, Art, Amy and a dog called Mr Beagle all go on exciting adventures.
The right book brings enchantment.

Budding Screenwriter
Mark is a UK-based husband and father of two girls. He works for the NHS while dreaming of the stars and being a successful writer. Whenever the day job is not taking up his time and the kids are exhausted or in bed he likes to indulge his two hobbies: astronomy/astrophotography and writing.
He has been writing a bit longer than he has been gazing at the stars, but he feels he still has a lot to learn in both. Both disciplines are complex and difficult to master, but persistence pays off and he says his pictures and writing are getting better everyday (or night).
Mark's primary interest in writing is film screenplays, having a long-standing love affair with the cinema since watching classic black and white movies with his dad when he was a kid, right up to sharing new films with his own children. This family-oriented approach to cinema seems to have influenced his writing as his main work, so far, has been in family-friendly fare, but he also likes to write in other genres, like drama, sci-fi and horror - to be honest, he just likes any film and will write anything that he thinks is a good idea! More recently he has been dabbling with short stories and is now tempting himself with thoughts of writing a novel.
He feels he still has a long way to go but, one day, hopes he will be able to wander through a bookstore, or sit in a cinema and smile smugly to himself when he sees his name on a book cover or up in lights!
Please visit his website and give him encouragement!
